“The Interconnection Entanglement”

In which we meet the grid and its many, many rules. The county said yes. The county was not the only vote.

Previously: Dale stamped the permit, Priya stamped the structural, and a second envelope has been sitting on Doris’s counter with a utility logo on it.

Finish the single line diagram

Markus needs a complete one-line and a labeling plan before his team can sign the interconnection agreement. The wiring is drawn. The boxes are empty.

Read the sheet in order: Utility Grid → Bidirectional Utility Meter → Main Service Panel (main breaker + branch breakers → household loads). The solar leg runs PV Array → PV DC Disconnect → Inverter → Solar AC Disconnect, and back-feeds into the panel. Nothing sits between the meter and the grid — the main breaker is the first protective device on Doris’s side.

  • Drag a tile from the tray onto a box on the diagram — or tap the tile, then tap the box.
  • Safety devices go in the grey boxes. Placards go on the glowing yellow tabs.
  • Two tiles in each tray do not belong on this job. Dropping them costs you a little Compliance.
  • Tap the small on any tile for what it actually does in the field.
  • Hit Check my work as often as you like. It’s free, and Markus would rather you use it.
