GOINGSOLAR

“Installation Day”

Two hard hats. One retriever. And a soap opera on a very specific schedule.

Previously: Utility approved. Permit stamped. Rails, modules, and a very determined golden retriever have arrived.

Secure the K2 MultiMount rails

Debo and Kenneth are up on the roof setting three rails across the rafters. Every mount is a K2 MultiMount with a butyl seal under the flashing — the leak-prevention story from Episode 1. Your job is to drive the lags.

  • Tap an open mount circle to start driving it. It takes 3 taps to seat the lag fully.
  • Finish every mount on a rail without wandering off and you get a clean-rail combo bonus. Ampere approves loudly.
  • The clock is the boss. The Bold and the Braveheart airs 1:00–2:00 PM. No new drilling starts in that hour — the crew switches to quiet work.
  • Safety toggles stay on. Switch one off and Debo stops the job until it’s back on. He is very boring about this and he is right.

The reverse claw (it’s a telehandler)

A telehandler is a real machine on real solar installs — a compact lift with an extending boom that puts pallets and modules on a roof so nobody carries a 45-pound panel up a ladder. It is not a claw machine. It just happens to control like one.

  • ◀ ▶ swing the boom, + − extend and retract it. Hold the buttons, or drag anywhere on the canvas.
  • Release lowers the module onto the nearest ghost outline. Dead-centre lands a precision bonus.
  • Outriggers must be down before the boom moves. The red keep-out zone under the load is not decoration — if anybody walks into it, the boom stops.
  • Kenneth is spotting from the roof. Debo is on the sticks. You are Debo.
